The Albemarle girls tennis team closed out its regular season in grand fashion sweeping Riverbend 9-0 to take first place in the Commonwealth District Regular Season and earn a #1 seed into the Northwest Region Tournament. Playing only their seven seniors against the bears the Patriots secured home court for the District Tourney which begins Monday. "What can you say about a group of seniors like this? All told they've been part of 51 district wins without a loss. That's four full years and folks might think that's been easy. It has not. With all the things that can go wrong to not slip up somewhere in there says something. This season especially we've been challenged and we've had to really hustle to finish against these teams. I was glad the seniors took care of things early. That's what experience does for you. Hopefully we'll hit our stride at the right time and keep everyone healthy for a bit of a run here. I'm very proud of all seven of these young ladies for what they have done and who they have become." Coach Lindsay
