The girls soccer team defeated Mountain View in a hard-fought match 2-1 Friday night, improving to 3-0 in the Commonwealth District. Taylor Hale opened the scoring in the 5th minute of play with an unassisted goal. Mountain View answered minutes later converting on a through ball that went over the Albemarle back line. Maggie Tubridy tallied the third and final goal of the match midway through the first half, putting Albemarle ahead 2-1. The Patriots and goalkeeper Betsy Haugh (9 saves) held off a surge of second half opportunities from Mountain View to earn the win. The girls are off for Spring Break, and will return to action April 13th, hosting Colonial Forge.
