Swimming States!

Both boys and girls placed 11th across the board in their relays, boys medley and 200 free, girls medley and 400 free. Prelims were great for the patriots, Matt Lockman, qualified for top eight in both his events, the 50 and 100 freestyle. Chase Robbins qualified for the 16th (consolations) position in finals in his 200 freestyle. Stephen Topping and Chase Robbins both made consols, (9-16) in their 100 backstroke. Andrew Williamson and Tim Webb, swam great 100 breastrokes, Williamson qualifying for consolation finals placing 14th. Hannah Harper swam the 200 IM and the 100 fly, placing 11th and 2nd respectivly. Holly Harper swam the 100 free and back, qualifying for 1st place in both.
Finals:
Dealing with the terrible facility and lack of warm up/warm down pool, the partiots gave their all the next day at finals. Hannah Harper maintained her 11th place in the 200 IM, swimming a great race and dropping a second from her best. She also placed 4th in her 100 fly, in an extremely close (and dissapointing) finish. Chase Robbins placed 14th in his 200 free, improving his time from prelims. Matt Lockman improved his placement in both events, placing 5th in the 50 and 7th in the 100, as a sophomore in a sprinting event, this is extremely impressive. (Picture david vs. Goliath.) Holly Harper placed second in both the 100 free and back, losing to the defending champions of last year, both of whom held the meet records in their races. Stephen Topping and Chase Robbins improved their backstrokes, and pulled out major points for boys, placing 9th and 10th, improving thier times from prelims. Andrew Williamson went exactly the same time and maintained the same place in his 100 breastroke.
Overall the scores were very impressive for the patriots, girls placing 10th and boys placing 11th over all. That is a major improvement from last years, 29th and 46th place finishes.
