Boy's Swimming

The men were seeded to lose by 100 points to Osbourn Park and be
in a tight race with district foes Brooke Point and Mountain View.
Albemarle jumped into the lead quickly with a school record in the 200
medley relay from Chase Robbins, Tim Webb, Stephen Topping, and Matt
Lockman. AHS was able to extend their lead in the 200 free with life
time best swims from Robbins and Jacob Lescault who finished 3rd and
11th. OPHS jumped to a 30 point lead after the IM placing 1st, 2nd,
4th, and 15th. Doing a great job to minimizing that damage were Webb,
Andrew Williamson, and Sean Telford who finished 8th, 10th, and 13th.
AHS picked up a couple of points in the 50 freestyle with sophomore
stand out Matt Lockman breaking the school record and winning the
event in a time of 21.66. Topping and Michael Bernardino gave up no
ground in the 100 butterfly, finishing 4th and 13th. AHS cut the lead
to 15 after another school record breaking performance from Lockman in
the 100 free, finishing in 47.36, also scoring was Robbie Robison
placing 15th. Osbourn Park dominated the 500, pushing their lead to 60
points, but Lescault was able to have a great swim and finish 11th.
Lockman, Topping, Robison, and Robbins picked up AHS's second relay
win in the mens 200 Freestyle Relay, cutting the deficit down to 50.
OPHS had another strong performance in the 100 backstroke, but
Topping, Robbins, and Telford negated their performance with all life
time best swims and finishing 3rd, 5th, and 12th. AHS dominated the
100 breaststroke. Webb broke the school record, Williamson, Robison,
and Collin Hensien followed all with life time bests, finishing 2nd,
4th, 10th, and 14th, and cutting the lead to 30 going into the last
event. Osbourn Park was able to win the final relay, but Albemarle was
able to easily outdistance all of the other teams to finish in second.
Qualifying for states are Matt Lockman (50fr, 100fr, 2MR, 2FR), Tim
Webb (100brst, 2MR), Stephen Topping (100fly, 100bk, 200MR, 200FR),
