Albemarle's Patriot Athletic Leaders (a club for recognized athletes) have come up with a way to recognize outstanding athletes during the school day. Every Friday morning, a group of club members visit the first period of an athlete who has been nominated by their teachers, coaches, or fellow students, and present them with the PAT on the Back-a red cape emblazoned with our Patriot mascot.
Past members have included football player Tory Key, volleyball player Sarah Terlesky, and cross-country runner Allison Huschke. This week's winner is Ben Deal, a runner for the boys cross country team.
