Joey Varaska signs with Longwood University in Baseball

Joey is a 6-foot-1, 180 pound, senior right hand pitcher/3rd Base/Shortstop at Albemarle.  Joey was an honorable mention All-District selection in the Commonwealth District in 2010.  On April 14th, Joey hit for the cycle, a rare feat, against Western Albemarle.  Joey spent the summer playing for the Virginia Cardinals Showcase team mostly as a third baseman, but also pitched, played SS and 1B.  As a pitcher, his velocity improved to the 84-88 range as well. The true do-it-all player with a strong bat will join Coach Buddy Bolding's Longwood Lancers in the Fall of 2012.
