Albemarle took a big step forward with a hard fought 7-2 win over Stafford at home on Wednesday. The conditions were windy and both teams showed that the race for the district crown is far from decided. Albemarle's top 3 took care of business and the Patriots got the momentum when Sr Stacey Hahn toughed out a key 10-8 win at #6 to make things 4-2 after singles. "Summer's injured so right before the match coach said ...Stacey... you're 6. The match was tight so I just did what I could and was glad I could help us get the win". Albemarle moves to 8-0 in the district and now has control over its own destiny. But they know the sretch run won;t be easy They will host North Stafford tomorrow at 5:00 before heading into next week where they face last year's Northwest Region Runner-Up Riverbend(Tues) followed by crosstown Western Albemarle(Wed) and then Massaponax(Fri)
