Girl's Tennis

Lightning struck the Albemarle Patriots in more ways than one on Monday
when they played 4 time defending state champ Mills Godwin. The lady
patriots expected things to be tough against the Eagles but didn't roll
over. Top seed Megan Napolitano won her singles match against Abigail
Randolph 6-2 6-1 and went on to partner up with Elise Lord in #1 doubles
for another victory. But those would prove to be Albemarle's lone wins
on the night. At #2 doubles Ivy Haines and Summer Caton hang tough in a
back and forth match that was stopped due to lightning. Still Godwin led
6-2 overall and took the win. The lady Pats still developing their new top six lineup get a chance to put lessons learned into action tonight as they face Mountain View at home (rescheduled to 4/11).
